Canterbury Partners – Strategic Market Mapping & Merger Support
Manuh Collective was commissioned by the Founder of Canterbury Partners to support strategic repositioning of one of their portfolio companies during the 2020 pandemic. The objective was to identify potential acquisition or merger opportunities with a larger entity, enabling a successful exit or integration.
The company operated in the women’s health and wellness sector, focusing on menopausal and postmenopausal demographics. Manuh Collective conducted targeted market mapping to identify two primary categories of potential partners:
1. **Early-stage, female-led health and wellness tech startups**—particularly those backed by VC, trusts, and angel investors, and addressing areas such as mental and reproductive health.
2. **Larger multinational corporations**—particularly in sectors such as energy, manufacturing, retail, construction, and facilities management, with demonstrable CSR commitments aligned with responsible business practices, including supply chain transparency.
Entities were further segmented by funding structure, key decision-makers, product offerings and pricing, customer base, brand affiliations, active marketing efforts, geographic reach, and supplier networks.
Findings were synthesized into a focused report recommending 3–5 high-potential partners, complete with outreach strategies and supporting data. Supplementary market research provided the Founder with a macro-level view of the landscape and future partnership opportunities.
The engagement concluded with the successful merger of the company, supported in part by the Founder’s established network within the built environment sector.
Founded by Kim Morrish in 2017, Canterbury Partners is a network of angel investors and firms backing impact-driven businesses—especially women-led—with investments ranging from £25,000 to £3 million, including majority stakes in larger deals.
